August 21, 2026 / Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council

The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council recently featured Panama’s rich cultural traditions in an article by CEO Patrick Fisher, following his visit to Chitré to witness the historic national gathering of Danzas de Diablos.

The article explores the diversity, history, and cultural significance of these traditions and highlights Crossroads of the World: Panama, the Latin American Cultural Center’s upcoming exhibition opening on September 22, 2026.

The exhibit will feature masks and objects connected to Panama’s Diablos, alongside other stories and cultural traditions from across the country. The exhibition will also include the work of photographer and documentary film maker  Luis Carlos Garcia.
