The Latin American Cultural Center (LACC) proudly kicked off the first workshop of its community initiative, the Retablo Project, welcoming children and teens from Casa San José. The session took place in artist James Simon’s studio, in collaboration with artist Laura Jean.
During this first meeting, participants took part in a free-form clay workshop, where they were invited to explore the material without restrictions and shape whatever they felt inspired to represent. The open format encouraged creativity and self-expression, giving each young artist the freedom to bring their own ideas to life through hands-on sculpting.
This gathering marks the beginning of an ongoing collaboration between LACC, Casa San José, and local artists, aimed at fostering creativity, community connection, and cultural exchange through art. Stay tuned for updates on the next steps of the Retablo Project.
